photoblog image Old
I took this photo on February 14th, Valetines Day, 2005. Just under 8 weeks after the tsunami had devastated this village. We were meeting to discuss rebuilding toilets and aid that could be given to the families here. The man sums up the north of Sri Lanka-  not only age and sadness, but history- the pain of the tsunami linked with the ongoing conflict.  His amputated arm speaks volumns.

Hi Archibald

it is a very powerful image you took, you pictured all the worries, helplessnes and sadness of that man's life to gether with how life is in a place like Sri Lanka (lot of other people)
